If you camera doesn’t have a power cord. You need to take some precautions when using the wall plug. Ensure that the power cord you go for is compatible with your Canon camera. Depending on what kind of Canon camera you own, it might have come with a compact power adapter or require the use of a USB charging cable. 

If you don’t have a cable handy, you can get a replacement or have someone borrow you theirs. A fast charging, 3.1A will charge most Canon cameras. Try going for a USB 3.0 to USB-C or USB 2.0 Type A to Mini B.
