Your Oculus PIN is used to verify your identity and simplify purchasing in the Oculus store. The Oculus PIN associated with your account will be the same for all your Meta Quest devices. If you forget your PIN or you just feel like changing it, this handy guide will show you how to do just that.
How to Change Oculus PIN
If you forgot your PIN…
If you forgot your PIN, you will have to request an email with a link to reset it from the Oculus website. It could take some time for the email to arrive, but not longer than a few minutes. If you can’t find the email after a few minutes, you will have to check your spam folder for an email from no-reply@mail.oculus.com. You can request another email to finish to process.
- Go to your profile on Oculus.com.
- Click Security in the left menu. If you don’t see Security, click Devices, then click Security.
- Next to PIN, click Edit.
- Below Save, click Forgot Pin.
- Click Request PIN Reset.
If you remember your PIN and want to change it
- To change your Oculus PIN using the Oculus PC app
- Open the Oculus app on your computer.
- Select Settings in the left menu.
- Below Account, click Oculus PIN.
- Enter a new PIN and then enter your password to confirm the change.
- Click Submit.
To change your Oculus PIN using the Oculus mobile app:
- Open the Oculus app on your phone.
- Tap your profile picture in the top left.
- Tap Account Settings.
- Enter your current PIN, then enter your new PIN and tap Submit.
To change your Oculus PIN using the Oculus website:
- Go to your profile on Oculus.com.
- Click Security in the left menu, then click Edit next to PIN.
- Enter your current PIN, then enter your new PIN and click Save.
To change your Oculus PIN using the Oculus app for Samsung Gear VR:
- Open the Oculus app on your phone.
- Tap More and then tap Reset Oculus PIN.
- Enter your password, then enter your new PIN and tap Save.
How to Change Your Oculus Username
Your Oculus user name can be changed once every 6 months. Keep in mind that changing your username will reflect on all Meta Quest devices. For your new username to be approved, it must meet the requirements.
- Username requirements
- Usernames must start with a letter or number.
- Usernames may be between 2 to 20 characters in length.
- Usernames may include a mix of letters, number, dashes and underscores, but may not include dashes or underscores consecutively.
- Usernames may not have spaces, slashes or periods.
To change your username:
- Log into your account online from a computer
- Click Profile on the left.
- Click Edit next to Username.
- Enter your new username and your Meta PIN.
- Click SAVE and then click CONFIRM.
How to remove account from Oculus Go
You can only have one account associated with your Oculus Go at any given time. if you like to remove the account connected to your Oculus Go your will have to perform a factory reset. Performing a factory reset on your Oculus Go is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games, and content from your device and library. This information can also be re downloaded
Before starting the factory reset process, ensure that your headset is fully charged
To perform a factory reset using your phone:
- Open the Oculus app on the phone connected to your Oculus Go headset.
- Tap Devices in the bottom menu.
- Tap the headset connected to your phone.
- Tap Advanced Settings.
- Tap Factory Reset and then Reset.
Note: you can only perform a factory reset of your Oculus Go using your phone if you’re able to access to the account that is connected to your Oculus Go.
To perform a factory reset using the headset:
- Turn off your Oculus Go.
- Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
- Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
- Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
- Login to the Oculus app with the account you’d like to connect to your Oculus Go headset and set your device up again.
How to delete your Oculus account
If you wish to delete your Oculus account, there are several ways to do so. However, deleting your Oculus account won’t clear all your information immediately. When you delete your Oculus information, people won’t be able to see it in Oculus but your information could take up to 90 to be deleted completely. During that period, you will still receive personalized adds on and off Meta Company Product, however, you won’t be able to access your Oculus information.
Keep in mind that once you’ve deleted your Oculus data, you won’t be able to reactivate it or retriever any information. This includes your Oculus apps, and in-app purchases, your Oculus app achievements, your Oculus friends list, history of interactions with other users on the Oculus platform, and any content you’ve created o the Oculus platform.
There are several ways to delete your Oculus account;
If you log in to Oculus using a Facebook account
- From a computer, go to www.oculus.com.
- Log into your account.
- Click on your profile image in the upper right corner of your browser, then select Profile.
- On the left side of your screen, click Privacy Center.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button DELETE YOUR OCULUS DATA.
If you log in to Oculus with an Oculus account
- From a computer, go to www.oculus.com.
- Log in to your account.
- Click on your profile image in the top-right corner of your browser, then select My Profile.
- On the left-hand side of your screen, click Privacy Center.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click DELETE YOUR OCULUS ACCOUNT.
